The aim of the SOLCER project is to implement combinations of existing and emerging low carbon technologies through a systems based approach in order to optimise the use of energy at the point of generation.

The SOLCER project will help to identify combinations of appropriate low carbon solutions including:

  • Renewable energy supply;
  • Appropriate storage;
  • Efficient, reduced demand.

Investigations are being made at different scales from individual buildings, community, industrial sites and local authority/regional scale areas.

Researchers from the LCRI and appropriate industrial organisations, from both a supplier, installer and users perspective will work together in order to stimulate the uptake of low carbon systems.

SOLCER is part of the LCRI EU Convergence Programme and will run from September 2012 to February 2015.
